Small Kitchen Organization Solutions - Drawer Edition

If you have a small kitchen, you know the struggle of storage space.

We have a small, galley style kitchen with very limited cabinets and drawers. And as if that wasn’t already tight, our kitchen also shares space and storage with our laundry since our washer and dryer laundry storage is also located in our kitchen. To make things work we keep small appliances and backstock pantry items in our dining room cabinets to free up as much space as possible in our actual kitchen for the things we use each day.

So when you take into consideration all of that, with the fact that we have a whopping total of FOUR drawers in the entire kitchen ( and one of those is our houses dedicated junk/utility drawer so it doesn’t even count!) you can guarantee that every single square inch is valuable to us.

I wanted to see if there was annnnnyyy way to consolidate our kitchen drawers so they could hold more, in the same amount of space …. oh and also look gorgeously organized, and to do this I knew I would need some special organizers.

These are the organizers I found that helped me to fit more in our drawers, organize them beautifully and ultimately free up an entire cabinet as well. This was a huuuggggee win for our kitchen and I hope it helps you too!

Stacked Cutlery Organizer

This organizer alone was really the gamechanger for our kitchen. This stacked organizer let us cut down the amount of space our utensils took in our drawer by HALF!

Which meant we could fit double the amount of stuff in this one drawer, essentially freeing up an entire drawer. And in a small kitchen, like I said, gamechanger.

Stacked Drawer Knife Block

This knife block isn’t totally necessary, but it did go a long way in helping the look and function of our utensil drawer.

Prior to this we kept all the knifes just thrown in a different drawer with the little plastic blade covers on them. Which not only looked messy but was a pain to find the knife you wanted and also to put away after cleaning.

Now our knifes fit perfectly next to the rest of our utensils, safely and organized.

Bamboo Organizers

These bamboo organizers were my little splurge, because again… are they necessary? No. But do they make me very happy to open my kitchen drawers? Yes.. yes they do.

These come in a bunch of sizes so I measured out my leftover space around my main organizers and figured out how many I could fit so I could best use the space.

And I have to say, I am really happy with how easy and organized they make my drawers to use.

Bamboo and Glass Spice Jar Kit

This kit could not have made it easier to DIY my own custom Pinterest worthy spice drawer.

It came with 24 glass spice jars with beautiful bamboo lids and also came with beautiful modern labels to fit the jars perfectly. And it even came with a funnel to make it as easy as possible to put your spice drawer together.

In Drawer Spice Rack

This rack was kinda the key to making my Pinterest spice drawer dreams come true.

It’s very narrow so it fits inside even my small kitchen drawers and it also is modular so you can decide how deep you want it to be inside your drawer.

I loved how the bamboo matched the lids of the jars and other organizers I was using and just looked custom made for my drawer ( even though it totally wasn’t!)
