An Underrated Home Design Idea

If you read last weeks issue then you understand what I mean by my “teeny projects” era. And something I’ve learned in this era is the power of small changes! And I don’t just mean a little decluttering here and organizing there ( of course those are really powerful too!)

But what I have learned or been reminded of, is how SOOOOO MANNY TIMES… I have been able to completely change the way my home looks, feels and functions by simply rearranging the furniture.

Swapping our dining room from one side to another. Scootching up the sofa to create a cozier living room. Taking a cabinet from our dining room and using it in a closet… the list goes on. In fact, I have a new video coming to the channel later this week where once again simply swapping around furniture makes a huge difference in two different rooms in our house. ( so make sure to stay tuned for that!)

But, for whatever reason, even though I have seen this work over and over and over again , I am always SHOCKED at how big a difference it can make! So if you are feeling like your home needs a change , before you ever feel like you have to buy anything, try this simple and totally underrated design idea and simply rearrange your furniture, you might just surprise yourself!

Cave Days With Friends

This past weekend I had a “cave day” with a really close friend. And it is the best.

What’s a cave day you ask? ( as you should 🤣)

The name came from the first unofficial cave day where we wound up basically in pj’s on a couch in her basement and we talked the entire day. It felt like we stayed curled up in a cave all day, hense … the cave day was born.

But now we use it to mean anytime where we plan an entire day to do nothing but talk, cry, laugh and just be together without any dedicated plans. We don’t really plan to go anywhere ( unless it’s for coffee or if we get hungry ) and we just spend quality, uninterrupted time together and it is sooooo sooo good for the soul.

I highly recommend setting aside a cave day with a friend or two, your heart and soul with thank you!

Yummy Guilt Free Pasta For Summer

I’m NOT a chef or really even a very good cook to be honest.😅 So when I find a meal that is easy to make.. every. single. time. oh and that’s also healthy AND that Josh likes too?! You better believe I’m gonna share it.

This pasta dish is so easy to make, like basically set and forget easy. But it looks stunning and tastes incredible even though it’s like 85% veggies!

All you need is;

  • Spaghetti Squash ( Me and Josh usually each get half of one and depending on the size of the squash and how hungry we are, have a little left over.)

  • A block of feta cheese

  • A couple of handfuls of cherry or grape tomatoes

  • Seasonings ( Salt, Pepper, Italian, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder…. measure with your heart)

  • Ground Beef ( * Optional!)

And all you have to do is cut the spaghetti squash in half and clean out the seeds, ( pro tip, cut it around the middle instead of longways, this is not only way easier because you don’t have to cut through the stem but it also produces longer “noodles” that are more like traditional spaghetti noodles ) , divide the block of feta cheese and crumble between the two halves of squash and then fill the rest to the top with halved cherry/grape tomatoes. Season with your heart , drizzle with a little olive oil and then put in the oven at like 375 for maybe 40ish minutes.

Once the top gets a little brown and crispy and the tomatoes are cooked, pull it out of the oven, take a fork and twirl around the insides and you have the most delicious pasta ( that is 100% veggie!) and an incredible tomato and feta cream sauce. 🤤

Like I said , sometimes I also add ground beef on top or make meatballs to serve with it. But however you decide to serve it, I promise you need this delicious and guilt free pasta in your back pocket this summer. It’s so so good!
