Small Kitchen Organization Solutions - Pantry Edition

I’ve talked about our small kitchen before, so it probably isn’t surprising that our pantry situation isn’t ideal.

In fact we found that half our pantry was being kept over in the dining room just because we didn’t have space inside our kitchen cabinets. So I knew that we desperately needed to find a solution that would help us better utilize the cabinet space we did have, and finally create an organized and functional pantry in our small kitchen that was all in one place.

Here are the organizational solutions I used that help transform our small kitchen pantry;

Glass Food Canisters

I’ve actually had these canisters for years! And they still are one of my favorite items in our kitchen. In fact, I actually have 2 full sets because I love them so much.

We are a big ingredient household ( controversial I know!) and these are perfect for storing and easily accessing different nuts and seeds, scooping out my daily protein powder, grabbing a handful of chocolate chips, and grabbing some dried beans and chickpeas, popcorn kernels and more!

They would also be awesome for pasta noodles or for flour and sugar and other baking ingredients if you are big into baking.

Even though these were helpful before, these were really helpful once we began consolidating all of our pantry and backstock staples into one.

Like I said, we’ve been using these for years now and they are still air tight, high quality and I kinda wish I had a third set!

Stacked Wire Baskets

One of the biggest issues in our cabinets is that we only had one shelf, which means that while our cabinets are a decent size, we weren’t able to take advantage of the full vertical space we had, and as a result we found ourselves just piling our things on each other.

These stacked baskets really helped change that. Because they are nice and tall and have plenty of organized compartments, we were able to really take advantage of the full vertical space in our cabinets!

These are perfect for storing everything from potato’s and canned food to some of our daily go - to’s like peanut butter and olive oil!

And I really love how the little dividers are totally adjustable so you can customize and then re-configure each one as needed.

Bonus Hack: I actually purchased (x2) of the three tier version and then reconfigured them to have three of the two tiered sets to save a little money!

Stackable Organizer Bins

These little plastic bins were the perfect finishing touch for our pantry.

I loved that these came with removable dividers so I could customize each one for what I needed. These were perfect for organizing all my favorite little beverage packets and teas ( SOOOO SATISFYING! ) and then I used one to organize all of Josh’s favorite snacks where he could easily see what he had to choose from and grab and go.

Another reason why I found these super useful is that with the dividers in, they are actually stackable which again, was super helpful for us to utilize that vertical space in our cabinet.

Obviously we were working in our pantry but I could honestly see these being super useful in the bathroom or an office or kids play room. They really are just super handy to have!

Using this little trio of baskets, canisters and bins, we were able to get alllllll of our pantry staples perfectly organized in our kitchen and no longer have to go back and forth between the kitchen and the dining room! And THAT is a hugggeee win for us!

Whether or not you have a teeny pantry like us, or maybe you’re just trying to make your pantry the most functional and organized it can be, I hope that you find this helpful and encouraging!

And if you’re wondering exactly how I used these in our pantry, I actually filmed it for you, so you can watch the entire process over on my YouTube Channel.

See you over there!
