If you’ve been following me for a while then you may remember when I thrifted my DREAM couch off Facebook Marketplace! 

The only thing is that it was solid white. Not the most practical….

And as beautiful as it was, I also have a black lab named Rambo , who thinks the furniture is all his own personal perch. So we’ve actually lived with a blanket covering the majority of the couch this entire time! 

So when I found this incredibly stylish couch cover… I just knew I had to give it a try! We’ve been using it for a couple of months now and here are my honest thoughts…

What I Love

There are lots of things I love about this couch cover and that really impressed me, but here are definitely my favorite features!

The Shape

I know it’s not for everyone, but I loved the loose ruffled edge skirt! Combined with the rounded arms, I just felt like it was the perfect classic and timeless shape! 

The Color

It comes in a bunch of different colors but honestly the only one I ever considered was this dark brown and I LOVE it!

I feel like the other colors would have looked cheap , but this dark brown feels so rich and elegant! It really grounds the entire living room! 

The Material

I’m really picky when it comes to fabrics, and this one is such a soft velvety one! It feels luxurious, doesn’t wrinkle up and sits really well! It’s super cozy, but also fairly lightweight so it’s not super hot to sit on! Very happy with the material for the price!

The Price

Finally, obviously I loved that this was really affordable to try out. Especially when most couch covers for my 8ft long couch were easily double the price! I got the largest size they had and it was just at the $50 mark! Which isn’t bad at all to feel like you have a brand new couch!

What I Don’t Love

As much as I love it, there are also definitely some things I’m not thrilled with that I wish were better…

Runs Small 

The panic attack I had when I first started trying to put it on and realized it was super small … girrlllll I was freaking out! Because I swear that I read and measured and the size I ordered should have fit. In fact it was supposed to be a little too big!

But when it came in, it barely stretched across the frame of my couch and took a LOT of pulling and stretching and adjusting to get it out. 

Have to Readjust It Often 

One of the reasons I wanted a couch cover to begin with was because I was tired of constantly straightening up the blanket I had on the couch.

And even though I don’t have to straighten up this cover as much as I did the blanket, it definitely still shifts more than I would like. I usually adjust it daily when I adjust and clean up the couch pillows at the end of the day so it’s not a huge deal, but still annoying. 

Tears Fairly Easily

This is the one that makes me the saddest. Remember Rambo? My furniture loving fur baby??

Well he has already put quite a few holes in this cover with his nails. Which looks pretty rough especially considering some of the seams have pulled apart in places.

It’s just really unfortunate because there isn’t really anything I can do to repair it. And frustrating because I feel like it wouldn’t have torn so easily if it had fit correctly. 

So yeah… I’m not thrilled with these things but I do feel like if my couch was smaller and the cover fit a little more loosely , that none of the things I dislike about it would be an issue at all! 

I don’t think the fabric would be stretched so tight and wouldn’t rip as easily because of it. And I don’t think I wouldn’t have to adjust it as much if it was larger and hung on the couch a bit more.

As you can tell, I’m  pretty torn on how I feel about this couch cover.

I mean, I love it, it totally solved the issue we had. Plus it’s beautiful, so I’m really glad I got it. I just wish it was a little more true to size!

Ultimately , I do think it’s a great option for you if you have a smaller couch and can order a size up. So if you’ve been looking for a stylish and affordable couch cover I would definitely recommend giving it a try! It may work even better for you! I’ll leave the link to find it here.
