Wondering if you should install peel and stick tile floors? If they are even worth the trouble?
I recently did a makeover in my parents bathroom where I asked myself the same exact thing, but ultimately decided to go ahead and try them out and IM SO GLAD I DID!
While I definitely had a great experience with peel and stick floor tiles and 100% am planning on using them again, I do still think they are something to consider carefully for your space before installing them.
I’ve organized some of my thoughts after my experience of using them and hopefully this will help you decide if you should use peel and stick floor tiles too!
Common Concerns / Myths
I think we should start by talking about the concerns that tend to come up when floor tiles are mentioned. At least these were the concerns I personally had.
Looks Cheap

I think it really depends on the pattern and the tile here. Unfortunately it’s gonna be hit or miss. But I can confidently say that these tiles that I used looked really great and not cheap at all.
Hard to cut & annoying to install

This was my first time ever installing something like this so I was very concerned with how to cut it. Especially around molding and doors and things. But honestly they were super easy to cut with a box cutter and a straight edge.
When it came to installing them they are literally as easy as stickers to install. Seriously.
The only tricky part is when you do have an intricate corner or wall or doorway to cut around. But I found if you take your time and cut the shape really conservatively you can just keep adjusting and slowly cutting away more and more till it fits perfectly.
Pulls up and isn’t durable

I think this again depends on the tile that you choose, the surface you are sticking to, and the prep and way you install them.
For me, we installed these over a smooth and clean and very old vinyl flooring in a bathroom. And the tiles stuck super well and haven’t had any issues peeling up even though this room is obviously a bathroom where there is a shower and lots of water and humidity. But they are still holding up and looking great!
Are They Worth It?

You may have guessed by now, but I 100% think that using peel and stick floors to quickly and drastically improve the look of a space is so so worth it. They are very affordable and easy to use and really make such a big impact on a tight budget.
While I think that they probably aren’t all made equal and selecting one that is quality and looks great is going to be key, I do think that with the right tiles and pattern they can look really really elevated on a tight budget.
I can definitely recommend THESE for sure since I used them and know they look fantastic ( they are under $1 a square foot too!!)
